Rashaad was born at 27 weeks weighing a mere 2 pounds. Moderate brain hemorrhaging would lead to him having Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy. After spending months in the NICU and numerous surgeries, Rashaad came home.
With the help of amazing teachers and therapist at Easter Seals, Rashaad is ready to attend kindergarten in the fall. He should have no problems fitting in since he lights up a room with his smile and personality.
The past 5 years have been a long, tiresome journey for Rashaad and his parents. Welcome Home Angel is working on ways to not only makeover his bedroom but to make his home wheelchair friendly. Our goal is to help Rashaad become more independent in his home.
Update
Rashaad started out 2010 with a new room and bathroom. He also has a new ramp so he can enter his house with ease! With laminate floors, tons of storage, a height adjustable desk, accessable closet and a ADA bathroom Rashaad will be able to use his wheelchair freely in his room and bathroom. To help make life a little easier, Rashaad received romote controls for his lights in the room and bathroom.
Rashaad has a smile that will melt your heart and when he saw his room it was priceless. The room was great, however, to a 6 year old nothing was cooler than his new guitar pillow which plays music. He is now, officially, a “ROCK STAR!”
